Thursday's Rehearsal/Calendar

Hello All -

After about 45 minutes in the Office of Student Life today, I FINALLY came away with our room assignments for rehearsals and the venues for performance. However, I have to go back and talk to them about tech/hell week, so block off the times that are listed but keep checking your email and the website for another update.

Calendar Download

Because we were unable to get a venue for a Thursday night performance, we'll be having a Friday Night, Saturday evening, and Saturday matinee (as we did for Cradle). On that Friday we will be in Girvetz Theatre and on the Saturday we are in Embarcadero Hall.

Here are the rooms for normal rehearsals (these are printed on your schedules as well):

Tuesdays 7-10: Phelps 1425
Thursdays 7-10: Building 387 Room 104 (portable trailers near the UCEN)
Saturdays 5-8: Building 387 Room 101 (portable trailers near the UCEN)

This Thursday we will be rehearsing “In Whatever Time We Have” from 7-8, “A Little Fall of Rain” from 8-9, and “Popular” from 9-10. On Saturday we will be starting to choreograph "Sing Sing Sing," which has EVERYONE in it, so unless you have already told me you can't be there I will expect you to be.

A note about "Checkups": In these those of you in a solo, duet, or trio will be meeting with Ryan and he will help you and check on your progress. I will leave it up to Ryan where he wants to meet with you, but chances are it will be a practice room in CCS. If you don't know where you're meeting, just come to the normal rehearsal space and we'll tell you where you need to go.

If you missed Tuesday's meeting, Tony (our AD) typed up some notes which I've added to the bottom of this post. Looking forward to seeing you - email or call me with any questions!

- Gina

What was discussed at the 1st meeting:

Contact numbers for Gina, Tony, and Ryan.

If you cannot make it to a rehearsal, or some sort of emergency arises, please attempt to contact Gina to let her know. If you cannot reach her, then attempt to contact Tony.

If you need help with your piece, or just need help singing in general, please contact Ryan. Also, please let Ryan know the next time you see him what your vocal range is. Please do not boast, as he will take you at your word, and will become exasperated if you are lying.

Costumes: You are in charge of finding and dressing yourself. However, all costuming ideas, before they are implemented, must be run by Gina and Nicole. If you need help finding costumes, please talk with Jessica. If you need help with alterations, please contact Nicole.

The schedule for rehearsals will be sent out shortly by Gina. The general set up will be Tuesday nights are dance rehearsals, and Thursday and Saturday will be musical (with some exceptions). If you are in a dancing piece and cannot make it to Tuesday rehearsals please talk with Gina and Nicole.
Everyone will have rehearsal at least once a week, we will attempt to work around schedules.

It looks like tech week will be the week of March 4th. That means Monday-Friday rehearsals start at 5:30 and go on. If you are going to have any scheduling conflicts, please tell Gina or Tony immediately.

We will have a full band, but if you prefer to work from CD, please let Ryan know so that we can arrange it.

Check your e-mails every evening before a rehearsal day (i.e. Mon., Wed., and Fri.), and if you can, right before rehearsal. Also the website.

If you have any questions please contact one of us four.

Meeting 1/24/05

Hello All -

Because the office of student life is full of slackers and STILL hasn't scheduled us in anywhere, we will be holding tomorrow night's meeting in the UCEN (upstairs, in front of nicoletti's), and I will go again tomorrow to harrass OSL and get our schedule. We'll start at 7, so please don't be late - I only want to say this stuff once! :) Also, please come with your schedule (or a good idea of it) so that I can make sure there aren't any major conflicts.

Looking forward to seeing you there! Only two of you have let me know you have a conflict, so I'm expecting everyone else there.

See you,

Gina

CAST - MUSICAL REVUE

Hello All -

Thank you once again to everyone who auditioned - it was a really great group and we were mainly limited by which songs we could and couldn't use. We did have to substitute some songs and recombine some groups due to the simple fact that we could not create a show solely out of everyone's audition numbers. The songs listed below are, of course, pending until we have been granted the rights to those pieces, but most of them shouldn't be a problem. If you are not comfortable with the song you will be singing, please come and talk to me Tuesday before or after our meeting and let me know why. This also goes for the "Trio" - please come and talk to me on Tuesday about your number. If your name is not on this list, thank you very much for auditioning but as in all auditions we have had to make some cuts. Again, this is not necessarily a reflection of your talent, but of how well you, your number, or both "fit" in the show this time around. We encourage you highly to try out again.

For those of you who have been cast, congratulations! Please email me if you have an urgent conflict that cannot be avoided.

Welcome aboard!

Sunday, January 22, 2006

No Callbacks on Sunday.

If you've asked to do your audition on Sunday, then come at noon. If not, then the cast list will be sent out sometime on Sunday night.

Something to think about until then:

We had several people audition with "ballad-type" songs, or songs that we are very unlikely to get the rights to. Because of this, you may be cast but asked to consider a different piece than the one you auditioned with (this was why you were asked to name back-up songs). If anyone is definitely not okay with that, I need to know now so that we can take that into consideration when casting, so please email me with any concerns you might have.

If not, then please check either your email or the website for the cast list.

Thank you all for your auditions!
