FUNDRAISER! Cabaret @ Cold Stone's, M28th 3-9

Everyone-

Some of you know this already, but I met with the Owner of Cold Stone Creamery in Goleta yesterday and set up a fundraiser for next Monday the 28th from 3-9. I'll be passing out flyers on Thursday that people have to bring in in order to give us part of how much they've spent. The Owner let me know that if the cast showed up (some in costume, hopefully ;) and helped behind the counter we can get as much of 25% of all the purchases where people bring in flyers. We're also allowed to play music from Cabaret (and other musicals) while we serve the ice cream, and we can even perform mini numbers for the customers. Should be really fun!

If the cast doesn't come and help behind the stone, we only get 15% of the take rather than 25% - a big difference. The staff at Cold Stone will train us and show us what we need to do to serve the ice cream.

If you're interested in serving and helping out, I've broken the day up into shifts of 1 and a half hours each. You can sign up for more than one, if you want:

3-4:30
4:30-6
6-7:30
7:30-9

I was thinking that at least 2 people should work each shift together, so if you want to pair up (or come in a threesome ;) and sign up for a shift, let me know either by email or at rehearsal this Thursday or Saturday. I definitely need to know by Saturday. Also, if you can only work for a partial shift, that's fine too. Just let me know.

If you are thinking about serving, here are the rules he told me:

No passing out flyers in the store or out in front of it on the day of the Fundraiser. The idea is to bring in business that wouldn't normally come to the store, not steal the business they're already getting.

We are allowed, however, to pass out flyers in the store on days previous to the fundraiser (Friday, Saturday, and Sunday). This way, people will be more likely to come back (the bringing in more business thing again). I was planning on just coming to do it whenever I can, but if you're free for a couple of hours on any of these days, please email me and let me know.

We'll have a tip jar, so mention it when you serve. We'll also be competing for tips with the regular staff, though, so keep that in mind.

Encourage the customers to upgrade the size of their ice cream! "Why don't you get a pint and take it home with you?" should be the name of the game.

This should be a really fun time and a great chance to bond with your fellow cast :) so I hope everyone wants to come! If you have any questions, you can email me or ask me at rehearsal.
