Fiddler on the Roof Auditions Fall '06

CALLING ALL SINGERS, ACTORS, AND DANCERS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Shrunken Head Productions, the only musical theater group on campus, is holding auditions for its Fall production of Fiddler on the Roof. The auditions are taking place Friday October 6th at 7pm in the Old Little Theater on UCSB's campus.

It is not necessary to prepare a piece because we will be teaching two songs to the group from the production itself. Please bring a pencil or a pen and dress comfortably.

We look forward to seeing you there.
If you have any questions, please contact Elle, the assistant director/vocal director at broadwaybaby@umail.ucsb.edu.

Shrunken Head and Wikipedia

I got an email from someone asking for help with a production of Cradle saying that they found me through a mention of The Cradle Will Rock on Wikipedia (as well as the UCSB website).

Tickets, Poster, Call Times

For those of you that haven't been getting my emails, here is the info contained in the last one.

A link to the poster:
http://www.uweb.ucsb.edu/~ginamarie/ItW_poster_small.png

Please print this out and paper it up EVERYWHERE! I only have so much time to get to places, so if you want to sell out the theatre each night (we've done it before), post them in your dorms, in IV, at your places of business, all over. Help me out and we'll get a HUGE audience. Tell your family and friends!

Also, please remember to send me your ticket reservations. I need:

- Name of person picking up tickets (and/or yours)
- # of tickets
- Which performance
- Contact's phone # (or yours)

I have only gotten emails from FOUR people so far, so the rest of you get cracking!

Here are the call times for this week:

7 pm Monday through Wednesday
6 pm on Thursday for the open dress
5 pm on Friday for Opening night
12 noon on Saturday for the Matinee
5 pm on Saturday Evening for Closing night

Those of you with finals that lead right up to a performance, get into hair and makeup (and possibly costume) BEFORE your final. I know it sucks and is weird, but if it's the only way for you to get to the show on time then it's your best bet.

Thank you all for your hard work this quarter - we're almost there!

Big long post about the next few weeks...

Hello All -

Just a small update about the next couple of weeks. We now have 10 (count 'em) rehearsals before opening night. That's including tech week. You all should be off book by not this, but next Tuesday, and from now on all Cast members are required at all rehearsals unless I let you know otherwise.

That being said, I'd like to be able to give you some or all of this Thursday off to learn your lines. Originally I had had this Thursday blocked off for choreography, but as Nicole is going out of town for the weekend and the blocking for Children Will Listen can be simpler than I had originally planned for, we might have a chance for a small rest before the intense work begins.

HOWEVER, this can only happen if we work quickly on Tuesday. I need everyone to listen to the song ahead of time, learn the words, and be extremely quiet and professional while Ryan is teaching. If we learn the song quickly, I can block quickly, etc. If we don't learn what we need to learn on Tuesday, then I will need everyone to come in and finish on Thursday, so please keep this in mind. I'm sure we'd all like to take a day off, so let's work together to make it happen.

If you feel like you still want to do some ItW-related stuff on Thursday, contact Tony or Joe and get directions to wherever they're building the set that day. They're pretty far along, but there's still lots left to do! Also, if you have any costume questions at all or think you can get a costume piece, sew a costume piece, or just generally help Nicole out, please contact her or myself and let us know. This is a very elaborate show in general and we can use all the help we can get pulling things together.

As one last reminder, if you have a conflict from now until the end of the show, even if you've let me know about it ahead of time, PLEASE REMIND ME. I'm keeping track of a lot of things right now and things may slip my mind. That being said, you should do absolutely everything you can to clear ALL CONFLICTS, especially during tech week. I will not be happy if you come up to me at the last minute and say you can't be there one of those days - it really slows down the rehearsal process, and you won't get the time onstage that you need. Check your calendars!!!

Let's work hard on Tuesday, learn your lines, and let me know about any conflicts. See you tuesday!

ROOM CHANGE

Instead of Bldg. 387 Room 101, we are in GIRVETZ THEATRE (Girvetz 1004) for Saturday's rehearsal. Pass the word.
